God, the impact of injustice imprints the denial of human dignity in the eyes of our soul. Let not despair reign in our consciousness, for we seek the hopefulness of your compassionate justice that proclaims the sacredness of human life. By your Spirit, direct us to affirm this in our families, communities and social institutions to preserve the common good and well being of all. May we assess governance of the earth by how well it meets the needs of all people. Guide us to always question consumption for consumption’s sake, so we acquire in thanksgiving from the earth for our needs and not selfish desires to provide for the needs of the poor and vulnerable first. Help us to see work, not as a job, but our continuing participation in your creation, supported by living wages and humane working conditions for all. We know the sun never sets on our sisters and brothers, so we ask for the grace to stand in solidarity with all people, for their challenges are our challenges, their dreams, our dreams. Lord, thank you for helping us to visualize the interconnectedness of the fabric of life, where we all participate in the bounty and take responsibility for its prudent care. Everyday, as we plant our footprint on the earth, let us absorb the radiance of your hope, celebrate in awe the world you bestowed for us to inhabit and remain in prayerful dialogue for the strength to embrace the journey for justice and peace. For this we pray in the name of your Son, Amen.
