Jesus made us into a kingdom grounded in the Alpha of unity with the Father and creation, the present reality of each passing second and the promise of the Omega. He ascended to kingship, without an army of violent warriors. Constantly questions were asked of Him, for His kingship baffled society encumbered with existence of the status quo. Today, the mystery of a kingship steeped in love, freedom of grace and truth still eludes those absorbed with incessantly asking questions instead of pausing to listen to His voice. The dominion straddles centuries, continents and cultures, to offer a kingdom of truth and life, a kingdom of holiness and grace and a kingdom of justice, love and peace (from the Preface). The Lord is king robbed in majesty, yet in humility He personally beckons us to be active participants in His kingdom each time we say Amen to His presence in our hands.
Thank you for the grace of participating in your kingdom, Lord. Let us always be vigilant to promote non-violence as a faithful witness to your truth. In your eternal wisdom, may our hearts be stilled to listen to you voice.
